Job summary

Akash Homes in Edmonton, Alberta seeks an Estimator to join our fast-growing residential team. The role focuses on detailed cost estimates, labour and material costs, and alignment with operational needs.

You’ll work with Operations, Drafting, Construction, and trade partners, advancing process improvements and maintaining pricing databases to ensure competitive bids while supporting ERP-based cost tracking.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential construction estimating or a related construction role.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed residential construction cost estimates for assigned projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to determine labour and material costs.
• Support bid preparation and maintain organized project costing documentation.
• Review supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
• Maintain estimating templates, pricing databases, and cost libraries.
• Monitor labour and material pricing trends and assist with maintaining current market pricing.
• Collaborate with Production, Site Teams, Drafting, and Purchasing to ensure estimates align with operational requirements.
• Communicate with suppliers and trade partners regarding pricing, material availability, and scope clarification
• Assist with identifying opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies
• Support estimating system improvements and ERP utilization initiatives
• Help maintain consistency and accuracy across estimating workflows and documentation
• Participate in ongoing learning and development related to residential construction and estimating best practices
