Job summary

Akash Homes, based in Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking an Estimator to develop detailed residential construction cost estimates for assigned projects. You will analyze drawings and specifications to determine labor and material costs while collaborating with Operations, Drafting & Design, Construction, and trade partners to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed residential construction cost estimates for assigned projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to determine labour and material costs.
• Support bid preparation and maintain organized project costing documentation.
• Review and validate supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
• Maintain and update estimating templates, pricing databases, and cost libraries.
• Monitor labour and material pricing trends and assist with maintaining current market pricing.
• Collaborate with Production, Site Teams, Drafting, and Purchasing to ensure estimates align with operational requirements.
• Communicate with suppliers and trade partners regarding pricing, material availability, and scope clarification.
• Assist with identifying opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
• Support estimating system improvements and ERP utilization initiatives.
• Help maintain consistency and accuracy across estimating workflows and documentation.
• Participate in ongoing learning and development related to residential construction and estimating best practices.

The Role

We are seeking an Estimator for Akash Homes, based in Edmonton, Alberta.

• Improve accuracy, consistency, and organization within project estimates and cost databases

What You’ll Own
