L'Arche Antigonish is recruiting two House Leaders to join our community, one in a permanent role and one on a 12- to 18-month parental leave. The role guides the day-to-day life of the home, leading the house team to support Core Members and oversee staff and volunteers.

Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada. You will supervise assistants, coordinate scheduling, ensure health, safety, and documentation, and uphold accreditation standards while fostering a respectful, inclusive

Competenze

• Required: Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Required: Nova Scotia Class 5 Driver’s license and driving experience.
• Required: 2 years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or in a related field.
• Required: Acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Preferred: Diploma in Community Support Work, Disability Studies, Social Services, Health Care Aide, or related field is an asset.
• Preferred: Supervisory experience is an asset.

Mansioni

• Provide direct support for Core Members in all aspects of their life, including relationship & atmosphere, individual support planning & documentation, health & safety, personal care & daily living, and community access & advocacy.
• Oversee the well-being and growth of Core Members, including regular reviews of individual support plans and behavioral support plans.
• Oversee communication with guardians, professionals, day programs, etc.
• Give orientation and training to new Assistants.
• Supervise and nurture the growth of Assistants with regular feedback, roles & goals meetings, performance reviews, and circles of learning.
• Schedule Assistants, book relief/casual assistants, approve timecards and leave of absence requests.
