Job summary

L'Arche Edmonton is seeking a House Leader for a group home in Sherwood Park to guide daily life, support Core Members, and supervise Assistants.

You will oversee care planning, lead team meetings, and manage administrative tasks while ensuring compliance with accreditation and licensing standards. The role requires Grade 12, a valid driver’s license, and 2 years’ experience with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s license and driving experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or in a related field.
• Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector) required.
• Preferred: Diploma in Community Support Work, Disability Studies, Social Services, Health Care Aide, or related field.
• Preferred supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support for Core Members in daily living, health, safety, and advocacy.
• Oversee well-being and growth of Core Members, including reviews of support plans.
• Oversee communication with guardians, professionals, day programs, etc.
• Lead orientation and training for Assistants; supervise and nurture growth with feedback and reviews.
• Schedule Assistants, manage relief, timecards and leave requests; maintain records and documentation.
