Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Resident Program Manager to lead recreation programming and staff management at St. Paul Home, Alberta. You will recruit, train and schedule staff, coordinate resident assessments and family communications, and collaborate with ITDC and safety teams.

You will oversee volunteers, establish partnerships, and ensure services align with restorative and therapeutic goals. A post-secondary degree in recreation and related fields is required, with strong leadership and payroll

Qualifications

• Requires post-secondary degree/diploma in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or related field.
• Experience managing long-term care programs and staff.
• Ability to plan, develop and evaluate group and individual programming for aging residents.

Responsibilities

• Manage both unionized and non-unionized staff, including recruitment, orientation and learning opportunities.
• Coordinate resident recreation programs and quarterly assessments with a resident-centered care approach.
• Oversee scheduling, payroll processing and attendance and overtime approvals.
• Lead committees and participate in ITDC, QA, infection control, ethics and safety groups.
• Coordinate volunteers and partnerships with community groups and educational institutions.
