Sienna Senior Living in Scarborough, ON is seeking a temporary full-time Director of Resident Programs. The role oversees program development, team supervision and budget management to create enriching resident experiences.

Lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with residents and families, and drive quality and engagement across recreation and wellness initiatives. The position emphasizes care, inclusivity and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or related field.
• 3 years of experience in management and planning, implementation and evaluation of programs.
• Strong people management skills to guide, motivate and supervise a diverse team.
• Ability to connect with residents and families and manage multiple tasks.
• Think quickly, adapt to changing situations and resolve issues efficiently.
• Organizational and time management skills to handle budgets and department operations.

Responsibilities

• Program Development & Implementation: plan, develop and implement programs to meet residents' physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs.
• Team Member Supervision & Training: supervise and evaluate program staff and volunteers; provide ongoing training.
• Budget Management: develop and manage the program budget and seek external funding.
• Evaluation and Quality Improvement: monitor program effectiveness and implement improvements.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: collaborate with nursing, dietary managers and social workers to align programs with resident care plans.
