Job summary

The University of British Columbia invites applications for a Third Cook - Residence (Sessional) in the Residence Dining unit. You will prepare, cook and serve meals in accordance with a menu plan under kitchen leadership.

This hourly CUPE 116 position requires a cooking certificate, FoodSafe Level 1 and at least one year of related experience, plus a commitment to food safety, sanitation and guest service.

Qualifications

• Certificate in cooking from a recognized institution
• FoodSafe Level 1 certificate
• Minimum one year of related experience
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and contribute to equity, diversity and inclusion

Responsibilities

• Prepares, cooks and serves meals in accordance with a menu plan.
• Greets, interacts and serves guests following customer service standards.
• Maintains sanitation and safety in accordance with FoodSafe and UBC policies.
• Assists in inventory and ensures quality of finished products.
• Cooks main courses, pastry items, bakeshop items, desserts, salads and sandwiches.
• Performs related duties as required in the kitchen.
