Job summary

Sienna Senior Living’s North York community seeks an Activation Aide to coordinate and run engaging programs for residents. You will plan activities, decorate spaces, manage supplies, and assist residents to ensure safe, meaningful engagement.

The role involves completing assessments, documenting progress, and coordinating with therapy programs. An Ontario police check and TB screening are required; CPR/First Aid and Food Handler certificates are needed.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or related field.
• Current Standard and/or Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification.
• A valid Food Handlers Certificate.
• Previous experience in program planning, documentation, and evaluation.
• As part of legislative requirements, meet police check and TB screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Actively and effectively facilitate programs in the care community including small and large groups and special events.
• Complete resident assessments and establish goals and interventions based on identified needs.
• Complete documentation related to programming including assessment, attendance, progress notes, care plans, and reviews.
• Collaborate with other therapy programs (pet, music, art therapy) to connect residents with the community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
