Job summary

London Cross Cultural Learner Centre in London, Ontario, seeks a full-time Childminding Assistant to deliver services for children aged 2–12 under RAP. You will ensure a safe, inclusive environment aligned with health and program requirements and support families using settlement services.

The role emphasizes developmentally appropriate activities, language and culture sensitivity, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. A Vulnerable Persons Police Check is required.

Qualifications

• Registered member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification appropriate to the age group.
• Up-to-date immunizations and recent TB test (completed within the previous six months).
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Implement childminding activities that support children’s development through play-based learning.
• Provide active supervision and maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
• Maintain a welcoming, culturally responsive space for children and families.
• Deliver age-appropriate and culturally relevant activities (games, storytelling, creative play).
• Communicate with parents about children's participation and well-being.
• Keep program equipment and spaces clean and safe per health standards.
• Follow childcare regulations, policies, and safety procedures.
• Participate in program planning and continuous improvement.
