About the role

D-Waveislooking for aproactive and communicativeResearch Technician Associate II to join our Lab Operations team andhelp run our world class low temperature laboratory in Burnaby, BC. In this role, you’ll be part of a team that drives the day-to-day in-lab activities necessary to support D-Wave’s product and scientific research goals. Youwill work hands-on with our quantum computers and lab infrastructure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, as well as have exposure to the entire scope of our processor research and development effort - from design through fabrication, characterization, and integration into an eventual quantum processor.

What you'll do

  • Prepareandinstalltestchips-taking themfrom wafer to functioning processor
  • Conductelectrical testing on wafers and chips usingavariety ofcustom-builtand industry standard equipment
  • Work with scientists, engineers, and other technicians to develop and maintain processes to ensure effective preparation and installation of test chips
  • Learn to handleliquid cryogens (helium and nitrogen) and compressed gasessafely, efficiently, and effectively
  • Screen parts for magnetic contamination at cryogenic temperatures
  • Help maintain our fleet of dilution refrigerators and cryogenic test systems
  • Otherlab maintenance and support

About You

  • Undergraduate degree in science, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience operating instrumentation in an engineering, physics, or industrial lab
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse cross-disciplinary team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new procedures quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills and some programming experience
