The Department of Biomedicine at the University of Basel is seeking a motivated Research / Lab Assistant (80%) to join a project on tau pathology and neural circuit function in early Alzheimer's disease. The role involves in vivo mouse work, stereotaxic surgeries, chronic Neuropixels recordings, histology support, and animal welfare monitoring within an international, collaborative setting.
You will gain training in advanced electrophysiology and contribute to longitudinal studies in a dynamic
As a joint venture of the University of Basel and the University Hospitals Basel, the Department of Biomedicine (DBM) brings together basic and clinical scientists to advance the understanding of health and disease.
We are home to more than 67 research groups and over 800 employees across six locations in the heart of Basel. Our collaborative and international environment fosters innovation, excellence, and impactful research.
The Brain Ageing and Neurodegeneration led by Prof. Marc Aurel Busche, is looking for a Research / Lab Assistant.
Join our community and help shape the future of biomedicine.
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Research / Lab Assistant (80%) to join a newly funded project investigating how tau pathology disrupts neural circuit function during the early stages of Alzheimer's disease.
The project combines mouse behaviour, chronic multi-region electrophysiological recordings (Neuropixels), viral approaches, and analysis of large-scale neural population activity to study how pathological changes in neural activity emerge and contribute to cognitive impairment.
