Job summary

Bruyère Health Research Institute in Ottawa seeks a Research Coordinator to join our research team led by Colleen Webber. The role coordinates health services research projects focusing on measuring and improving quality of care in long-term care.

You will conduct study planning, Ethics Board submissions, participant recruitment, qualitative and mixed-methods research, data collection and analysis, and knowledge translation, with budget oversight and mentorship from the PI.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in health sciences or related field
• Master's degree in epidemiology, health services research, health research methods, or related discipline preferred
• 2+ years of experience in health services research or related field
• Experience with qualitative or mixed-methods research
• Research experience in long-term care or palliative care an asset
• 1+ years’ project coordination experience including budgets
• Fluency in French and English an asset
• Strong research, analytical and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Experience in diverse, multi-cultural environments

Responsibilities

• Overseeing day-to-day activities of the research project under general supervision
• Coordinating logistics: meetings, schedules, timelines and milestones
• Designing and implementing qualitative and mixed-methods research tools, data collection, coding and analysis
• Tracking expenses and budgeting projections
• Corresponding with external stakeholders and investigators
• Drafting reports, publications, and grants with the team
• Providing leadership and supervision to staff and students as needed
• Assisting with protocol development and ethics submissions
• Coordinating REB applications and ongoing approvals
• Drafting meeting agendas and minutes
• Handling invoices and expense tracking for the project
• Supporting project management of research projects and grants
• Additional duties as projects progress
