Job summary

Bruyère Health Research Institute in Ottawa seeks a Research Coordinator to advance health services research, with a focus on improving quality of care in long-term care. The role blends research coordination with substantive research activities under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator, Colleen Webber.

The successful candidate will engage in study planning, ethics submissions, participant recruitment, qualitative and mixed-methods research, data collection and analysis, and knowledge

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in health sciences or related field; master's preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in health services research or related field.
• Experience with qualitative or mixed-methods research.
• Research experience in long-term care or palliative care is an asset.
• 1+ years’ relevant project coordination experience including budget development.
• Fluency in French and English is an asset.
• Strong research, analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day activities of the research project with general supervision.
• Coordinate logistics for the research project, including meetings, schedules, timelines and milestones.
• Contribute to design and implementation of qualitative and mixed-methods research.
• Track and reconcile expenses against budget and projections.
• Corresponding with external stakeholders and investigators.
• Support drafting reports, publications, presentations and grants.
• Provide leadership and supervision to staff and students as required.
• Assist with writing protocol development and ethics submissions.
• Coordinate REB applications and ongoing approvals.
• Draft meeting agendas and take minutes.
• Perform financial tasks such as invoicing and expense tracking.
• Support project management of research projects and grant applications.
