University of Manitoba is seeking a research staff member to support regulatory submissions, document maintenance, and project coordination for clinical studies. Responsibilities

  • Complete regulatory submissions and coordination of site submissions.
  • Maintain regulatory documents.
  • Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP, TCPS2, FIPPA/PHIA, Health Canada rules and institutional policies.
  • Manage day-to-day tasks of research projects including research charts.
  • Assist with monitoring visits and data collection.
  • Liaise with departments to support research activities and collaborate with team.
  • Provide back-up support to team members as required.
  • Adhere to safety and health policies and safe work practices.

Job description

Work schedule: 35 Hours/week (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm)

Salary: $23.13 to $33.29 per hour ($42,096.60 to $60,587.80 per annum)

Appointment Dates October 19, 2026 to October 20, 2026

840 hours worked

Qualifications

MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • University degree in related field, including laboratory analysis techniques, is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous research experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice guidelines, PHIA and the Tri-Council Policy Statement on Research is preferred.
  • Knowledge of research protocols and methodologies is preferred.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English are required.
  • Proficient in English (written and oral) is required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to multi-task are required.
  • Knowledge of computer software and proficient use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
  • Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
  • Satisfactory clearance of criminal records and child abuse registry checks is required.
Key responsibilities
  • Completion of RITHIM, Impact committees and Health Canada applications and coordination of site submissions.
  • Maintains regulatory documents.
  • Ensures compliance with ICH-GCP, Tri-council (TCPS2), FIPPA/PHIA, Health Canada Division 5 and other regulatory requirements and related institutional policies in the conduct of clinical studies.
  • Efficiently manages the day-to-day tasks of assigned research projects including maintenance of research charts.
  • Helps with monitoring visits, data collections, and other related tasks.
  • Liaises with the various departments to facilitate interaction and communications between the appropriate individuals and other departments to support research activities.
  • Collaborates closely with other research staff.
  • Provides general back up support to other team members when required.
  • Adheres to all safety and health policies, regulations and safe work practices.
  • Assists with other related projects and duties as assigned.
