Description

The Department of Radiology in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Assistant. This full-time fixed-term/recurring part-time position is for approximately 1 year (based on grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the research assistant (RA) will work day shifts at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Some flexibility is required for study visits on evenings or weekends. Tasks include data collection from youth participants and families, involving interviews, neuroimaging, cognitive and behavioral measures. The RA will also support data management, basic image processing, and research dissemination including knowledge translation to clinical and family partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advertise studies and recruit participants
  • Recruit and screen participants
  • Collect imaging and behavioral data from participants
  • Organize, process, and distribute data
  • Conduct quality control assessments to ensure high data quality
  • Update website and communicate with families via newsletters
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications / Requirements
  • BSc or MSc in Neuroscience, Psychology, or related field
  • Experience working with children and youth
  • Effective communication skills with families and staff
  • Research environment experience
  • Experience managing multimodal datasets
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, energetic, and creative
  • Experience with medical imaging is an asset
