Job summary

Frontage Vancouver seeks a Research Assistant I for a regular, full-time role supporting bioanalytical and pharmacokinetic studies. The position requires teamwork and strong communication in a fast-paced lab.

You will perform cell culture, DNA/RNA/protein work, ELISA and MSD assays, maintain equipment, and ensure SOPs and safety protocols are followed. A B.Sc and lab experience are preferred, with flexibility for extended hours.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.Sc in biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
• Co-op or lab experience preferred.
• Experience with cell culture, ELISA, MSD, PCR, cloning, and protein expression.
• Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time under deadlines.
• Willingness to work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform cell culture, DNA/RNA/protein extractions, enzyme activity assays, MSD, and ELISA.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Ensure the SOPs and safety protocols are strictly followed.
• Prepare study reports and archive documentation.

Research Assistant I

Job Title : Research Assistant (Regular, full-time)

Frontage is a global Contract Research Company (CRO) with the head office located in Exton, Pennsylvania, USA . Frontage has 25 sites across USA, Canada, China and Italy. The Canadian operations include two sites – one located in Vancouver and the other based in Toronto. Frontage Vancouver (formerly BRI) has been in operation for more than 25 years with service offerings in regulated and non-regulated bioanalytical (various platforms including LC/MS/MS and MSD for small and large molecules analyses), In-vitro / In-vivo Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics and pharmacology. The Frontage Vancouver operation is projected to grow significantly in the next few years, especially to meet the demands of biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the Pacific Northwest region. Our facility is accredited by AAALAC and conforms to GLP standards.

Currently, we are seeking highly motivated team players to join Frontage organization in various roles.

This position requires teamwork and excellent oral and written communication skills. A solid academic record is preferred.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Requires a B.Sc in biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a science related discipline.
• Working experience in laboratory setting with co-op experience preferred.
• Has basic knowledge and hands-on experience of cell culture, plate-based assays (including ELISA and MSD), and molecular biology (PCR, cloning, protein expression).
• Strong planning and organization abilities.
• Competent and self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
• Good logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice.
• Ability to work under specific time constraints.
• Competent and self-motivated individual able to work independently.
• Strong with computers skills, like MS Word, MS Excel.
• Experience with large molecules is an asset, but not required.
