Job summary

Sobeys in Canada is seeking a Grocery Clerk to carry out a full range of duties in a fast-paced retail environment. You will deliver friendly customer service, assist with stock, merchandise, and ensure food safety and store presentation.

• Order, receive, and merchandise stock per inventory procedures.
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs.
• Promote featured products to increase store sales.
• Maintain back shop and retail floor cleanliness per requirements.
• Prepare customer orders when required.
• Process department shrink as required.
• Participate in training of junior staff.
• Other duties as required.

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

• Order, receive, and merchandise stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required

• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
