Job summary

ACX Windsor, part of AutoCanada, seeks a licensed Body Technician 310B to repair and restore vehicles to factory standards. You will evaluate damage, replace parts, and perform frame work per OEM procedures. A Red Seal or equivalent, and I-CAR training are preferred.

• Post-secondary auto body program completion required or beneficial.
• I-CAR certification training or certification is an asset.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving history.

Responsibilities

• Review damage reports, prepare and review repair cost estimates and plan work to be performed.
• Perform quality repairs on a variety of vehicles.
• Review work orders and estimate reports to understand the scope of repair.
• Disassemble damaged areas to identify hidden damage not visible initially.
• Map out the repair process and ensure parts are ordered and on-site.
• Use hydraulic jacks and pulling equipment to realign frames to millimeter precision.
• Remove dents with hammers, dollies and dent-pulling tools.
• Apply body fillers and sand them to match contours.
• Temporarily remove interior trim, wiring, and parts to access body work.
• Assist in recalibration of ADAS like backup cameras and sensors.
• Conduct a final fit and finish check for door gaps and latch operation.

Your area of focus.

The Body Technician 310B is responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles that have been damaged in accidents or collisions. This includes inspecting and evaluating damage, removing and replacing damaged parts, repairing dents, refinishing surfaces, and ensuring all repairs meet safety and quality standards. A licensed technician that is capable of doing frame work, big and small repairs and does everything using OEM procedures.

What drives your day-to-day?

• Review damage reports, prepare and review repair cost estimates and plan work to be performed
• Perform quality repairs on a variety of vehicles
• Review work orders and estimate reports to understand the scope of repair.
• Disassemble damaged areas to identify "hidden" damage that wasn't visible during the initial estimate.
• Map out the repair process, ensuring all necessary parts are ordered and on-site.
• Use hydraulic jacks and pulling equipment to realign frames and unibody structures to millimeter-perfect precision.
• Remove dents using hammers, dollies, and specialized dent-pulling equipment.
• Apply body fillers to minor dents and grind/sand them until they match the vehicle's original contours.
• Temporarily remove interior trim, electrical wiring, and mechanical parts (like radiators or suspension) to gain access to body work.
• Assist in the recalibration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like backup cameras and proximity sensors located in bumpers.
• Conduct a final "fit and finish" check to ensure door gaps are uniform and all latches operate smoothly.

• Completion of a related post-secondary program and or training courses
• Knowledge of manufacturers' repair processes & adherence to processes
• Ability to use selected vendor materials efficiently and cost-effectively
• I-CAR certification training and I-CAR certification would be considered assets
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving history
