Job summary

The Byng Group in Ottawa is seeking a Trades Recruiter to own the full recruitment lifecycle for skilled trades across renovation projects. You will identify talent needs, build a reliable trade network, screen resumes, conduct interviews, and onboard new hires to support project timelines and quality standards.

You will collaborate with the Trade Services Manager and regional management to forecast labour needs, maintain an active pipeline, and ensure strong candidates are available for urgent

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of recruitment or trade coordination experience.
• Knowledge of skilled trades and certifications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly to Belleville and Kingston.

Responsibilities

• Identify, recruit, and select qualified tradespeople for projects.
• Source candidates through job boards, referrals, trade associations, industry events, and social networks.
• Screen resumes and applications, conduct initial phone/video interviews, and evaluate candidates against role requirements.
• Maintain an active pipeline of pre-vetted trades to reduce time-to-fill for urgent project needs.
• Coordinate onboarding and liaise with site teams and management to ensure smooth start-ups.
