Job summary

Electronic Arts’ EA SPORTS NHL team in Vancouver is seeking a Rendering Software Engineer to evolve our rendering engine for multiple target environments and maintain high visual quality.

You’ll implement core rendering pipelines, shading systems, and tools across diverse hardware, collaborating with Technical Artists, Art Directors, Gameplay Engineers, and Core Engine teams to deliver fluid, real-time hockey experiences.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience in real-time graphics or rendering programming.
  • Experience with multi-platform rendering pipelines and hardware abstraction layers.
  • Working knowledge of C++ and object-oriented programming; hands-on shader experience in HLSL.
  • Familiarity with DirectX 12, Vulkan, or platform graphics interfaces.
  • Experience using graphics profilers (PIX/RenderDoc/Nsight) to diagnose issues.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and extend rendering systems and shading pipelines to support diverse hardware.
  • Work with graphics abstractions to adapt workloads across configurations.
  • Collaborate with artists, gameplay engineers, and engine teams to deliver real-time features.
  • Profile, diagnose, and optimize GPU/CPU performance and memory usage.
