Job summary

Affim is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the Fraud Decisioning team, building tools and systems to power fraud detection while collaborating with Product, ML and Analytics. You will plan, design, and drive cross-functional initiatives, mentor engineers, and influence hiring decisions.

We offer a remote-first role in Canada, with base pay in the CAN range of 181,000 to 241,000 CAD per year, equity and benefits. You’ll work from anywhere in Canada with occasional in-person onboarding.

Qualifications

• 6-10+ years of software engineering with leadership and mentoring experience.
• Experience architecting and maintaining complex systems.
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams (Product, ML, Analytics).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• Plan and execute large cross-functional initiatives.
• Design simple, deployable, robust software and review others' work.
• Lead and mentor engineers to grow and succeed.
