Job summary

commonsku is seeking a software development co-op to gain hands-on experience in a modern SaaS codebase and contribute to features used by customers. You will learn from mentors and receive meaningful feedback while enrolled in a co-op program for January–April 2027.

You’ll work on React UI, APIs in PHP/Python, and tests, in a remote-first environment open to Ontario students with some in-office days in Toronto.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in CS or Software Engineering as part of a co-op program.
• Experience building software projects using React, PHP, or Python.
• Familiar with relational databases and writing queries.
• Familiar with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Exposure to Agile development practices.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply design patterns and coding standards with the team.
• Develop APIs and UI components using React, PHP, and Python.
• Collaborate across teams in an Agile environment.
• Participate in standups, sprints, and retrospectives.
• Write unit/integration tests and fix issues reported by users.
