Job summary

TCAT Div of Toromont Industries Ltd is seeking a Remote Site Technician to diagnose, repair and assemble Caterpillar mining and earthmoving equipment on a 14x14 rotational schedule across Eastern Canada. The role offers full-time permanent employment with hourly wages of $48.17–$49.60, plus total rewards and premiums where eligible.

You will perform diagnostics, repairs, and service documentation while maintaining customer relations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in heavy equipment mechanics.
• Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience as a technician.
• Provincial Red Seal license.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment.
• Repair and/or assemble allied or competitive Caterpillar earthmoving equipment as required within established time lines and quality standards.
• Prepare service reports and service documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
• Participate as an integrated member of onsite mechanical staff.
• Maintain good customer relations.
• Comply with company and customer health and safety policies and procedures.

The Remote Site Technicians will safely and effectively diagnose, repair and or assemble all Caterpillar mining and earthmoving equipment in a timely manner while ensuring high quality standards and positive customer relations.

Pay Type

Compensation

$48.17 - $49.60

In a typical day, YOU will:

Must-haves for this role:

• Post-secondary education in the field of heavy equipment mechanics, heavy vehicle mechanics or heavy engine mechanics
• Minimum 2 years of post apprenticeship experience as a Technician in repair and service of heavy construction equipment and/or heavy mining equipmentProvincial red seal license
• Available for 14 day rotational schedules
