Job summary

Upgrade is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to architect and build test automation infrastructure, tooling, and agentic solutions. This fully remote role is open to candidates based in Canada, and you will work closely with product teams to design services from scratch, ship them to production clusters, and own them.

You’ll design and own automation frameworks for functional and performance testing, build agents to automate QA workflows, and deploy automation services in production.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years building production software with test infrastructure and tooling.
• Proven track record building agentic automation frameworks from scratch.
• Experience orchestrating multiple agents to run automated workflows.
• Hands-on with micro-services and Kubernetes and deployment lifecycle.
• Ability to translate ambiguous problems into scoped solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and own automation framework for functional and performance testing.
• Build agents to automate QA workflows and reduce engineering friction.
• Develop services automation relies on; deploy and operate in production.
• Prototype, demo, iterate until hardened and monitored with quality.
• Identify gaps in existing frameworks and drive improvements.
