Job summary

Fivetran is hiring a senior software engineer for the Orchestration team, owning the control plane of the dbt platform. You will design and deliver features across high-throughput APIs and data models, collaborating with product and QE to ensure scalable, reliable systems.

This is a full-time, fully remote position. You will work with Python, Rust, GraphQL, Postgres, Snowflake, and other technologies to improve discovery, catalog, lineage, and run history services, contributing to performance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud computing.
• Proficient in backend languages (Python/Java/C/C++) and building scalable services.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features across the Metadata team's services (discovery API, catalog, lineage, run history).
• Develop, maintain, and test high-quality, maintainable code with a focus on performance.
• Write technical designs and review trade-offs; participate in PR reviews and feedback.
• Improve test coverage with unit tests and reduce tech debt.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to post-mortems and mitigations.
• Collaborate with product managers, QE, and support to deliver high-quality products.
