Job summary

Torn Banner Studios, a Toronto-based independent game developer, is seeking a Senior Gameplay Animator. You will own gameplay animation features, working with motion capture data and keyframes to bring characters to life for both gameplay and cinematic moments.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines, with a focus on delivering high-quality animations. Remote work is possible, but Ontario residency or relocation is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of gameplay animation experience in the industry.
• Experience with Third Person animation; FPS/FPH variants is a plus.
• Experience with Motion Builder and Maya.
• Experience with motion capture workflows.
• Experience working with game engines and animation state machines (Unreal Engine 4+).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; self-motivation and initiative.
• An animation reel demonstrating high-level animation skills.
• Paid animation test may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality animations using Keyframe and Motion Capture data for gameplay, cinematics, and scripted events.
• Integrate animations into the game engine and troubleshoot issues.
• Iterate animations based on feedback from playtesting and reviews.
• Collaborate with the animation team and other departments to meet deadlines and quality.
• Contribute to the setup, maintenance, and development of the animation department’s processes and pipelines.
