Job summary

Parkland County in Alberta is hiring a Municipal Land Advisor to manage Crown Dispositions and rights-of-way across county lands. You will serve as a subject matter expert for land-use requests, ensuring resolutions align with regulatory requirements and county standards.

The role requires a post-secondary diploma and several years drafting and managing land agreements, with proficiency in SPIN II, GIS, ETS and EDS. In-person work at Parkland County Centre, AB.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Diploma in Land Administration, Municipal Planning, Real Estate, Business, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience drafting, interpreting and managing surface land interest agreements.
• Certification in Property Management and Accreditation through IRWA, AASLA or similar assets.
• Highly organized with strong administrative, oral communication and technical writing skills.
• Experience with Municipal Government Act, Land Titles Act, Surface Right Act etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office D365; land software SPIN II, GIS, ETS and EDS.
• Database and legal document retention experience is an asset.
• Proficient in interpretation of Certificates of Title, Survey Plans and registered title encumbrances.

Responsibilities

• Manage Parkland County-held Crown Dispositions and interests in lands and rights-of-way (leases, licenses, encroachments, access, temporary use).
• Act as SME for land use requests and concerns for Parkland County titled lands, road allowances and minerals rights.
• Determine resolutions based on regulatory requirements, County standards and best practices.
