Job summary

Apptoza Inc. is seeking a Python/SQL Developer for a remote contract to modernize Perl-based ETL processes and migrate data workloads to AWS. The role focuses on converting legacy Perl scripts to Python, building robust Python-based ETL solutions, and supporting Snowflake migrations.

You will write complex SQL queries, ensure data quality through validation and reconciliation, and collaborate with data engineers to deliver reliable data pipelines during the migration and modernization effort.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Perl scripting experience.
• Experience converting Perl scripts to Python.
• Strong ETL and data migration knowledge.
• Experience with Snowflake data migration.
• Experience with AWS cloud migration and AWS data services.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries.
• Familiarity with legacy application modernization projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Perl scripts and ETL processes.
• Convert Perl scripts to Python.
• Develop and maintain Python-based ETL solutions.
• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
• Support migration of ETL processes and data pipelines to Snowflake.
• Assist with Snowflake data migration and integration activities.
• Migrate apps, scripts, and data pipelines to AWS.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines using Python, SQL, and AWS services.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business teams during migration and modernization.
• Document ETL processes and solutions.
