Job summary

Apptoza Inc. is seeking a strong Python/SQL Developer with Perl scripting experience to modernize ETL processes by migrating them from Perl to Python and to support data workloads being moved to AWS.

The role focuses on converting legacy scripts, building robust Python-based ETL solutions, and enabling Snowflake migrations. The candidate will write complex SQL queries, validate data, and collaborate with data engineers and business teams during the migration and modernization process.

Job Description:

We are looking for a strong Python / SQL Developer with experience in Perl scripting, ETL processes, Snowflake, and AWS migration. The candidate will be responsible for modernizing existing Perl-based ETL processes by migrating them to Python and supporting the migration of data workloads to AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand existing Perl scripts and ETL processes.


• Convert and migrate legacy Perl scripts to Python.


• Develop and maintain robust Python-based ETL solutions.


• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.


• Support migration of existing ETL processes and data pipelines to Snowflake.


• Assist with Snowflake data migration and integration activities.


• Migrate applications, scripts, and data pipelines from on-premise/legacy environments to AWS.


• Develop and optimize data pipelines using Python, SQL, and AWS services.


• Perform data validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.


• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business teams during the migration and modernization process.


• Document existing and newly developed ETL processes and technical solutions.

• Hands-on experience with Perl scripting.

• Strong understanding of ETL/data migration processes.


• Experience with Snowflake and Snowflake data migration.


• Experience with AWS cloud migration and AWS data services.


• Strong understanding of data transformation, data validation, and reconciliation.

Preferred Skills

• AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, and/or EC2.


• Snowflake ETL/ELT and performance optimization.


• Experience with CI/CD and Git.


• Experience working in large enterprise or banking environments.


• Knowledge of data warehousing and cloud data architecture.

Overall Focus:

The primary focus of this role is Perl-to-Python modernization, ETL migration to Snowflake, and migration of data processes/applications to AWS.
