Job summary

David Schaeffer Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Senior Project Manager in the Ottawa region to lead land development and subdivision projects from concept through construction.

This role requires a Civil Engineering degree with a P.Eng. preferred, 5+ years of experience, strong municipal approvals knowledge, and proven leadership. You will oversee budgets and schedules, coordinate with clients and authorities, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; P.Eng. designation preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of land development and subdivision design/project management.
• Strong understanding of municipal approvals, servicing strategies, and engineering standards.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and client-relations abilities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
• Proficiency with design tools (AutoCAD Civil 3D) and project tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple subdivision development projects from planning through construction.
• Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and quality control to meet client expectations and regulatory standards.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, municipalities, and approval agencies.
• Lead design and coordination for grading, servicing, stormwater, and utilities.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers, project coordinators, and staff.
• Prepare, review, and approve submission packages and constraints analyses.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to align multidisciplinary objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery through strategic planning and process optimization.
