Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Playwright QA Automation Engineer to join our QEA team. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI and API layers, ensuring quality across complex web apps and microservices.

You will work in a remote Canada-wide role with flexible arrangements, and you will contribute to improving test coverage, CI/CD integration, and overall QA processes while aligning with business requirements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in QA Automation and Software Testing, with strong hands-on expertise in Playwright using TypeScript.
• 3+ years building hybrid or custom automation frameworks using Playwright (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java).
• Experience with agile teams using BDD, Cucumber, Github Actions and Jenkins.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks and test suites.
• Strong experience validating REST APIs, microservices, and JSON payloads.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable end-to-end test automation frameworks using Playwright.
• Develop robust UI and API test suites for complex web apps and microservices.
• Develop and maintain API testing strategies validating integrations, functionality, security, and data accuracy.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with developers to resolve issues.
• Improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and QA processes.
• Troubleshoot automation failures and provide detailed test execution reports.
• Define and monitor key quality metrics and identify risk-reduction opportunities.
