Job summary

Upgrade is seeking a Senior QA Automation Developer to own quality across new product initiatives. You will build automated and functional tests, work with product teams, and influence testing strategies from design through production in a fully remote Canada setup.

You’ll use Java, Selenium and Playwright, deploy in Kubernetes environments, and collaborate with QA platforms to scale test automation as our software moves fast.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Java-based test automation with Selenium or Playwright.
• Experience deploying services in Kubernetes and using ArgoCD/Jenkins.
• Familiarity with log aggregators (SumoLogic, Kibana) and monitoring tools.
• Passion for quality and fast-paced delivery; experience in Agile.

Responsibilities

• Develop test automation at the pace of feature development using AI tools and existing frameworks.
• Define test plans and contribute to internal knowledge stores for automation.
• Create AI-powered test workflows to enable developers to test new features.
• Set up disposable environments to run functional/performance tests across versions.
• Patch and deploy infrastructure and code changes through production.
• Analyze production issues by reproducing them in non-production environments.
