Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Playwright Automation Test Lead to design scalable cross-browser test frameworks and drive end-to-end quality strategy for complex enterprise apps. You will architect UI/API test programs using TypeScript/Java and Playwright, integrating quality gates into deployment pipelines while guiding teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in test automation engineering/architecture.
• 3+ years in enterprise automation architect or CoE role.
• Proven experience standardizing automation across multiple tech stacks (web, API, mobile).
• Experience with CI/CD integration (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Ability to build internal tooling and dashboards; strong mentoring skills.
• Experience with AI-assisted/agentic testing tooling.
• NuGet or equivalent package management standardization.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce standard reporting formats and dashboards across all automation suites.
• Design automation scripts with best in class coding standards.
• Provide hands-on coding support across Playwright, Selenium, C#, TS, JavaScript, and Python.
• Establish configuration management across environments, test data, credentials, and versioning.
• Integrate automation with test management tools for traceability to requirements and execution results.
• Guide framework selection and fit-for-purpose decisions (UI, API, mobile, performance).
• Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD, framework, and environment issues across distributed teams.
• Own and prioritize the technical backlog for framework enhancements and tooling upgrades.
• Mentor automation engineers to adopt standardized frameworks and practices.
