Job summary

Randstad Canada in Gravenhurst, ON is seeking two full-time Machine Operators to set up and operate extrusion machinery. Starting pay is $18/hour with growth opportunities and the role includes maintaining product quality and performing pre-operation checks.

Shifts are continental (7:45–7:45), Monday to Friday, with benefits, paid lunches and other perks when hired on. A Grade 12 is an asset and basic math reading skills are required.

Qualifications

• Proven history of good attendance.
• Willingness to advance within the company and learn our manufacturing systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
• Grade 12 an asset.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical competency.
• Ability to perform simple math, and take measurements (read a tape measure).
• Capable of reading and understanding work instructions and safety documents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the quality of the extruded product, and it's packaging.
• Setups, Changeovers, Adjustments, Mechanical Aptitude; Ability to Troubleshoot; Visual & Quality Inspections, Basic Paperwork.
• Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
• Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
• Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
• Housekeeping and sanitation.
