Job summary

Lakeridge Health Whitby, ON is seeking an Outpatient Coding Specialist. This casual part-time role involves coding outpatient records and abstracting data per CIHI standards, with a focus on accuracy and quality.

The successful candidate will join a Health Information Management team, working from the corporate office with potential for remote work after orientation. Excellent knowledge of ICD-10-CA/CCI and NACRS is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with outpatient coding and NACRS records.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CA/CCI and CIHI NACRS requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to meet productivity and quality standards.
• Experience with Epic and abstracting systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Code and electronically abstract outpatient information per standards.
• Participate in quality improvement and data accuracy initiatives.
• Collaborate within HIM team and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Health Information Management program

CHIM certification with active membership in CHIMA
