Job summary

Schroeder Ambulatory Centre is seeking a Health Information Coder to manage accurate coding and abstraction of ambulatory health records (NACRS) on-site. You will work under the Manager of Quality, Safety & Enterprise Risk and support data quality improvement initiatives.

The role requires a Health Information Management credential (or equivalent) and CHIMA certification, with at least three years of NACRS coding experience and strong knowledge of CIHI standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in health information management or health record technology (required).
• Certification and active CHIMA membership (required).
• Minimum 3 years NACRS coding and abstracting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario health system reporting requirements (CIHI/ICD-10-CA/CCI).
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse, Med2020; WinRecs is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, complete, confidential patient health records per Ontario/federal laws.
• Ensure documentation and coding standards are met; oversee audits and data quality reviews.
• Support accreditation/audit preparation and regulatory reviews; assist in quality initiatives.
