Job summary

Cold Lake Bus Lines seeks an On-Call Transit Assistant to monitor the Transit System during specified evening and weekend hours from home, located in Cold Lake, AB. The role requires strong knowledge of the transportation industry and the Cold Lake area, with duties including radio monitoring, coordinating with the Transit Supervisor, and responding to inquiries.

Candidates should have transit or transportation experience, excellent communication and discretion, knowledge of OH&S regulations,

Qualifications

• Previous transit or transportation industry experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with professional interaction and discretion.
• Knowledge of WCB and Occupational Health and Safety regulations is a plus.
• Ability to organize and plan scheduling with fairness and efficiency.
• HOS and auditing experience is considered an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Transit operations in evenings and Saturdays and escalate concerns promptly.
• Assist Supervisor in delegating responsibilities and scheduling monthly hours.
• Support route coverage to ensure efficient and fair service.
• Ensure staff are treated fairly per Driver's Handbook guidelines.
• Meet monthly with Transit Drivers to discuss issues and concerns.
• Answer public and driver inquiries and coordinate solutions.
