Job summary

Avanti Software Inc. in Cold Lake is seeking a casual Adaptive Transit driver for the Infrastructure Services Department. You will operate the Adaptive Transit bus, meet tight deadlines, and ensure clients reach appointments safely and on time.

The role requires a high school diploma, Alberta Class 2 or 4 license with a clean abstract, at least two years in customer service, First Aid/ CPR, and a satisfactory criminal record check. Shifts include day, evening and weekends.

Qualifications

• Class 2 or 4 Alberta Driver’s License with a Clean Driver’s Abstract.
• Minimum two years experience in customer service.
• Experience dealing with clients with special needs; patience and helpful attitude.
• Must know basic vehicle procedures.
• Standard First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Adaptive Transit bus safely and efficiently.
• Meet tight deadlines to ensure clients arrive to their scheduled destinations on time.
• Schedule, pick up, and deliver clients to scheduled appointments.
• Collect fees and statistical information.
• Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the bus.

Job Purpose & Responsibilities

This is a casual position with the Infrastructure Services Department.
Reporting to the Transportation Services Manager, this position is responsible for assisting clients meeting specific criteria, who require transportation to/from business, medical/dental, and recreation appointments within the City of Cold Lake in an affordable manner. The incumbent will be responsible for:

• Operating the Adaptive Transit bus in a safe and efficient manner;
• Working within tight deadlines to ensure clients arrive to their scheduled destinations in a timely manner;
• Scheduling, picking up, and delivering clients to scheduled appointments;
• Collecting fees and statistical information;
• Ensuring general maintenance and cleanliness of the bus.

Qualifications & Competencies

• High School Diploma or Equivalent;
• Class 2 or 4 Alberta Driver’s License with a Clean Driver’s Abstract is required;
• A minimum of two years experience in customer service roles;
• A strong understanding of, and/or experience dealing with clients with special needs, demonstrating patience, and a keen interest in assisting others;
• Must know basic vehicle procedures;
• Standard First Aid, and CPR Certification;
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required.

More Details

The wage for this position is $23.85 per hour. The hours of work are as needed, with day, evening, and weekend avaliability.

This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
