Job summary

Torch Remote Camps is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at our remote modular camp sites. You will be responsible for keeping facilities, accommodations, and equipment safe, functional, and well maintained.

This is a hands-on role focused on troubleshooting, repairs, and maintaining a comfortable camp environment. Work independently and as part of a team in a remote camp environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, modular buildings, camps, or related trades.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, or general building systems is an asset.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand basic maintenance manuals, work orders, and procedures.
• Valid driver's licence may be required.
• First Aid certification or trade training is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of modular buildings, rooms, common areas, mechanical spaces, and exterior areas.
• Complete preventative maintenance according to established schedules and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair general building maintenance issues.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, sinks, drains, and water lines.
• Perform basic electrical maintenance, such as replacing light fixtures, switches, outlets, and other minor components.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, hinges, cabinets, furniture, walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Conduct minor carpentry and drywall repairs as required.
• Inspect and maintain heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems and report deficiencies.
• Assist with the maintenance of boilers, water heaters, pumps, and other building systems where qualified.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and urgent facility issues.
