Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a highly precise Mechanical Engineering AI Trainer to design complex mechanical problems and write rigorous ground-truth solutions for AI training. Remote, hourly contract with flexible hours, 10–40 hours per week.

You will evaluate AI-generated CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications, ensuring accuracy and safety while adhering to ASME and ISO standards. Independent work and strong writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.
• Strong foundation in solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, CAD/CAM, thermodynamics or manufacturing processes.
• Able to communicate complex phenomena and derivations in writing.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging mechanical engineering problems spanning FEA, heat transfer, kinematics, material science, and mechatronics to stress-test AI reasoning.
• Author ground-truth solutions with rigorous, step-by-step technical benchmarks for AI learning.
• Audit AI outputs: evaluate CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specs for accuracy, safety and standards conformance (ASME/ISO).
• Refine AI reasoning by identifying errors like incorrect force distributions or energy violations and provide structured feedback.
• Document failure modes to help research teams harden model capabilities.
