Job summary

University of Fredericton is seeking a Learning Design Consultant for online course development on a one-year term. The role focuses on designing engaging, accessible courses across certificate, diploma, undergraduate, and graduate programs.

You will work with SMEs and academic partners to move courses from initial design to SME-approved, production-ready content, embracing responsible AI tools. The position is based in Fredericton, NB, with a flexible option to work remotely from anywhere in

Qualifications

• Strong learning design fundamentals.
• Experience collaborating with faculty or SMEs on course design.
• Experience mapping CLOs to PLOs and assessments.
• Experience with LMS and accessibility concepts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SMEs to define course descriptions, outcomes, mapping, topics, and assessments.
• Translate program expectations into coherent course frameworks and learning pathways.
• Review sequencing, workload, progression, and academic integrity.
• Use approved templates, checklists, and standards for course frameworks.
• Apply responsible AI use in drafting and refinement of learning content.
• Edit and refine content for clarity, learning-centred design, and alignment to outcomes.
• Prepare content for LMS production and digital delivery.
• Maintain documentation of decisions, reviews, and content changes.
• Contribute to improving development templates, workflows, and documentation.
