Job summary

Serefin is seeking a Finance Business Analyst to join its Finance team. This remote role focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and business analysis to support strategic decisions across multiple entities.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will collaborate with operational leaders to improve processes, support audits, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment while working remotely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
• Minimum of 5 years financial analysis and accounting experience
• Working knowledge of the Canadian tax filings and related compliance
• Working knowledge of NetSuite, Expensify and Payworks is an asset

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple Serefin entities, including consolidated reporting.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger analysis to ensure accuracy of information.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages with detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year results.
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
• Prepare and maintain annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range planning activities.
• Develop ad hoc financial analysis and reports to support business initiatives and strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with operational leaders to understand business drivers and provide financial insights for informed decisions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, reporting, and internal controls.
• Assist in evaluating business performance through KPIs and financial metrics.
• Prepare corporate income tax returns and supporting schedules for multiple entities.
• Support external audits by preparing working papers and responding to auditors' requests.
• Develop and maintain documentation of accounting procedures, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance reporting processes.
