Job summary

L.B. Foster is seeking a Field Service Technician I to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer training across North America. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and hands-on technical work with hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

You will travel weekly to field sites, liaising with customers and internal teams, and you must manage tools, expenses, and reports while following all safety and client rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or better.
• 0-2 years hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical experience preferred.
• Require valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract.
• E-Railsafe required upon hire and other customer-based training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Travel weekly to install, maintain, troubleshoot and train customers across North America.
• Liaise with external customers and internal departments for product development and relationship-building.
• Work outdoors on railway tracks in various weather conditions.
• Manage personal travel expenses, tools, and company-issued cards where applicable.
• Handle basic issues and refer complex ones to higher-level staff.
• All other duties as assigned.
