Job summary

A leading building controls manufacturer in Surrey is seeking a Junior Hardware Sustainment Specialist to support sustaining engineering activities for building automation products. Candidates should have 0-3 years of relevant experience and a technology diploma in Electronics or a related field. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, validation testing, and updating documentation. The position offers a salary range of CAD 65,000 to 80,000 and comes with various employee benefits including flexible hours and training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Must have a technology diploma in Electronics, Mechatronics, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Support sustaining engineering activities for electrical and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Execute validation test procedures for component substitutions and design updates.
  • Assist in troubleshooting hardware failures in manufacturing and field-returned units.
  • Collect data, reproduce issues, and document findings during investigations.
  • Update documentation, schematics, and BOM records in PLM/ERP systems.
  • Support lifecycle and obsolescence tracking activities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams.
  • Follow established safety and compliance practices during testing activities.

Skills

Foundational understanding of analog and digital circuit principles
Basic understanding of electromechanical systems
Familiarity with standard lab equipment
Strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education

Technology diploma in Electronics, Mechatronics, or related discipline
