Toptal is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to own and maintain the data transformation layer, governance, modeling, and AI data systems. You will be the product owner for our data warehouse and collaborate with Business Analysts and Data Engineers to deliver trustworthy data.

Fluency with SQL and AI tooling, a strong problem-solving mindset, and a passion for data-driven decision making are essential. This is a remote role with English resumes preferred and no visa sponsorship.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 4+ years shipping production data models as Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or Data Analyst.
• Expert-level SQL skills and working knowledge of Python.
• Fluency with LLMs and agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor or equivalent).
• Experience with cloud data warehousing (BigQuery or Snowflake).
• Knowledge of modern transformation frameworks (dbt, Dataform, SQLMesh).
• Git fluency and collaboration in production environments.
• Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design, write, review, and ship SQL models across repositories to transform raw data into usable data products.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to onboard new data sources and publish in the data warehouse.
• Monitor data warehouse quality and derive insights to improve data operations.
• Translate business asks into modeled data and define business rules.
• Improve data quality, lineage, access, and retention across multiple sources.
• Own and document the data dictionary tracing fields to origins.
• Review teammates' code and maintain production hygiene.
• Work with Analysts, Engineers, Data Scientists to enable data-driven decisions.
• Assist end users in understanding data complexity and limitations.
• Improve team tooling, playbooks, and documentation for the warehouse.
