Job summary

GHY is seeking a seasoned trade consultant to advise on tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, and FTAs, while drafting CBP binding ruling requests and coordinating with CBP and partner agencies.

Reporting to the Director of US Trade Services, you’ll mentor colleagues, provide strategic guidance to clients on complex trade matters, and support process improvements for refunds and post-entry activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the customs industry.
• CCS designation required.
• U.S. Customs Broker License (preferred).
• Proficiency with ACE and brokerage software.
• Advanced Excel and Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on tariff classification, origin, valuation, and FTAs; draft CBP Binding Ruling Requests.
• Support compliance activities with CBP and Partner Government Agencies.
• Prepare scope of work proposals; identify client risks and refund opportunities.
• Compile customs documentation; manage post-entry filings and logs for refunds and entries.
• Research and resolve duty bills and penalties; generate trade operation reports.
• Contribute to business development with trade content and team process improvements.
