Varsity Tutors invites competition math tutors to join its Live Learning Platform to teach students nationwide online. Set your own hours, work from home, and earn up to $40/hour by invoicing for sessions.

You’ll connect with students best suited to your strengths and leverage Tutor Copilot to enhance each lesson. We look for deep knowledge of number theory, combinatorics, and contest math, plus strong teaching and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Advanced mathematics knowledge across number theory, combinatorics, modular arithmetic, and algebra for contest prep.
• Ability to explain problem-solving heuristics and proof techniques to students.
• Experience adapting instruction to different learning styles and pacing.
• Strong communication and engaging teaching style.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions with competition math students.
• Explain non-routine problems and develop multiple solution approaches.
• Prepare students for AMC, MATHCOUNTS, and AIME style problems.
