Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company, is seeking Competition Math tutors to teach advanced topics to students nationwide via our Live Learning Platform.

You set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and get paid up to twice per week as you invoice for sessions. The role emphasizes breaking down challenging problems and building problem-solving heuristics, while adapting instruction to different learning styles.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of contest math topics (AMC/AIME) and problem-solving heuristics.
• Ability to explain non-routine problems and develop proofs.
• Familiarity with AMC, MATHCOUNTS, Math Olympiad syllabi and time-management.

Responsibilities

• Tutor online via the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform.
• Explain concepts clearly and guide students through problem-solving strategies.
• Adapt instruction to individual learning styles and pacing.
• Maintain engaging, supportive tutoring sessions and track progress.
