Job summary

Varsity Tutors offers a platform for 1-on-1 online Competition Math tutoring, allowing you to set your own schedule and earn competitive rates from home. Tutors work remotely and are matched with students needing help with AMC, MATHCOUNTS, and related competitions.

As a competition-focused tutor, you’ll leverage the Live Learning Platform and Tutor Copilot to deliver effective lessons, while invoicing for sessions and receiving payments promptly.

Qualifications

• Advanced mastery of number theory, combinatorics, modular arithmetic, geometric proofs, algebraic manipulations, inequalities, Diophantine equations, and probability for contests including AMC 8, AMC 10, AMC 12, MATHCOUNTS, and AIME.
• Ability to explain problem-solving heuristics, pigeonhole principle, and proof techniques while preparing students for contest advancement.
• Familiar with AMC, MATHCOUNTS, and Math Olympiad syllabi; adaptable to contest time pressure.
• Strong communication and engaging teaching style.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual students.
• Accept on-demand tutoring requests when you're available.
• Invoice for your tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments.
