Placements24 is seeking a Junior Cloud Engineer Apprentice for a fully remote internship, enabling you to work with modern cloud technologies. Based conceptually in Kimberley but accessible from anywhere in South Africa, the program provides mentorship, hands-on cloud infrastructure work, and opportunities to obtain certifications.

You will deploy and manage resources across AWS, Azure, or GCP, learn IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while developing remote

Qualifications

Strong foundational interest in cloud computing and IT infrastructure.
Basic understanding of operating systems (Linux/Windows) and networking concepts.
Familiarity with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash) is advantageous.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Effective communication skills suited for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

Assist in deploying, configuring, and managing cloud resources on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Learn and apply infrastructure as code principles using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Support the automation of operational tasks and CI/CD pipelines.
Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and cost optimization.
Collaborate with development and operations teams in a remote setting.
